The settlement belongs to Málnás from administrative point of view, and it was formed in the 17th century around the glass barn of the family of count Kálnoky. As the surrounding forests used to belong to Zalán, the glass barn was first named the Glass Barn from Zalán. It was this place where the polygonal windows of the Saint Michael Church were made. The glass furnace stopped operating in 1860. In Karácsony Zoltán`s private collection as well as in the National Sekler Museum visitors can see different glass products made by the furnace mentioned above.
