Kemeny-Bánffy Castle From Luncani Luna

Kemeny Castle, as it is known today, was built on an estate which initially belonged to Gerendi family, according to a document from 1268. Gerendi family loses the property from Luncani in 1597, being bought by Boldiszar Kemeny. Until 1861, the property belonged to Kemeny family, being subsequently inherited by Bánffy family.

In the present, the L-shape central pavilion, with basement, ground floor and first floor is preserved from the Baroque-Transylvanian architecture monument, the entire building having 44 rooms. The access to first floor is made through a stone staircase, several rooms from here having ceilings with broken arches. The castle is a private property and can be visited on request.
