Presentation - Bernáld Mansion Cernat

The stone wall enclosing the building, having been once a defensive system, remained only in its fractions. Only the original stone gateposts are still standing. The Roman numerals sundial, placed on the right wall of the mansion, is a rarity. The Bernáld family kept its ancient Catholic faith and – until the construction of the Catholic church – submitted the eastern vaulted room as a chapel for the Catholic adherents living in the lower part of the village. The present propietors have great merit regarding its conservation.

A Dédnagymamám Bernáld Ágnes volt. Rokonokat próbáltam keresni, így jártam Alsócsernátonban, és kerestem fel a Bernáld kúriát. A kovácsoltvas kapun keresztül néztünk be a feleségemmel az udvarra, amikor a tulajdonos hölgy kilépett az épületből, körülnézett, észrevett minket, és köszönés rövid érdeklődés után beinvitált minket. Elővett egy Bernáld - Apor családfát, kiterítette a nagy asztalra, megkínált sütivel, nagyon kedves volt. Örök hálám érte, hogy az ősi földön így fogadtak engem.
