Overview - Harghita Mădăraş Tour

Departure: 10 am from the Ivó Kolping parking. Returning back in late afternoon.
Equipment: closed shoes, rain gear, layered clothing.                                                                                                           Tour Length (km): 30 km with transportation. 3 km walking. Difference in altitude 500m                                                                   Route: Ivó-Madaras Harghita-peak Madaras Cabana, return Madaras Peak-Waterfall Szökő-Libán trip to the springs.

We start from Ivó by vehicle transport, first  stop is Madaras Cabana, from here a pleasant walking follows to the peak of Harghita Madaras. On the peak of the mountain one can admire the surrounding mountains, depressions and if the visibility is clear, we get a chance to see as far as the Fagaras Mountains. From the peak we walk down on a trail to the waterfall Szökő. From there we continue down to the cars and back to Ivó. On this tour we have the opportuniti to observe wildlife and rare plants.
