The Holy Cross Church

The baroque church of Csíkszereda—the Saint Cross church—used to be surrounded entirely by a protective wall (constructed between the years 1751-58). More than half of this wall can still be seen. In the circle of wall you can see the symbol of eternity just like in the gathering of wedding rings. In a marriage the two parties become one, but they do not lose their specific characteristics. Thus, the old church goes well with the new one, without injuring each other’s specific features.
